The sports meet of the primary section - 2023
The sports meet of the primary section of Holy Family Convent Kalutara was held on Friday 28th July 2023 at the school grounds.
Mr. Dilan Gunarathna, the Divisional Director of education of the Panadura Division graced the occasion as the chief guest. Our guest of honour was Mrs. Upeka Dalkadurarachchi the Assistant Directress of primary education of the Kalutara zone.
The event was a success under the guidance and dedication of Rev. Sr. Jessica Kulathunga Our Principal, Rev. Sr. Maureen Hettiarachchi our Deputy Principal, Mrs. Marian Fernando our Vice Principal, Rev. Sr. Niroshika Jayamanna the sister in charge of primary section, the teachers of the primary and secondary sections.
The sports meet comprised many innovative and colourful events which won the hearts of the spectators.
The Welcome of Grade 1 students to the year 2022
On 19 th of April 2022, 99 students were admitted into grade one. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Treeson Silva, Vice Rector of Holy Cross College, Kalutara, Rev. Sr. Shirani Waas, Superior of the Convent, Rev. Sr. Priyanthi Jayathunga Our Principal, Rev.Sr.Maurin Hettiarachchi Our Deputy Principal, Rev.Sr.Chandani Hallinna Our Primary Principal, Mrs. Prasadini Perera Our Vice Principal, Rev. Sr. Jesika Kulatunga, members of the staff, and parents of grade one students participated in the ceromony. Mrs. Renuka Navurunnage, Mrs. Randika Perera and Mrs. Ashara Bandara are the class teachers of the new comers. Rev.Fr.Treeson Silva blessed the newcomers, who were welcomed by the former grade 1 students. We warmly welcome them all to our school community and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
The welcome of grade1 students to the year 2021
The welcoming of grade 1 students to the Holy Family Convent was held on 9th, 10th and 11th of January 2021.Due to the prevailing pandemic situation it was held on three days. Likewise 108 students were welcomed to grade 1 for the year 2021.At the main gate of the school they were given a nice badge and then in the primary maths lab a ceremony was held to welcome them to school.
Smart Classroom
A fully equipped smart classroom was donated to the Primary Section of Holy Family Convent Kalutara by The Institute of Examgenious on 21st January 2020 by making it one of the most memorable days to the school. Prayers were conducted by Rev. Fr. Jayashantha Sovise, the Rector of Holy Cross College, Kalutara. Professor Rangika Halwathura graced the event with his presence as the chief guest. The gathering was addressed by the Director of the Examgenious institute, Mr. Aruna Jayarathna on how to use the technology for our studies.
Primary Sports meet -2019
The Primary sports meet was held on 23rd of February 2019 in the school grounds. The chief guest was Rev. Fr. Asitha Hettiarachchi the Vice Rector of Daham Sevana Seminary, Palathota. Our thanks goes to our principal Rev. Sr. Priyanthi Jayathunga, Rev. Sr. Chandani Hallinna our primary principal, Mrs. Prasadini Perera our vice principl, Mrs. anne Indika Vass and Mrs. Deepani Senevirathne our two sports teachers, academic and non- academic staff, parents, primary prefects, stewards and all the students of the primary section who participated in this successful event.
Welcome of students to grade 1 - 2018
On 17th January 2018, 109 students were admitted to grade 1. Rev.Fr. Suran Attidiya, Rev.Sr. Shirani Vaas the Superior of the Convent, Our Principal, Deputy Principal, Vice Principal and members of the staff were present at the ceremony. The newcomers were welcomed by the former grade 1 students and were blessed by Rev.Fr. Suran Attidiya. We welcome them all to our school family and wish them great success in their school career.
Prize giving 2017 - Primary Section
The prize giving of the primary section of our school was held on 12th September 2017 at 8.00a.m.in the school main hall. The chief guest at this event was Rev. Sr. Jesmine Fernando, the provincial of Holy Family Colombo unit. She was welcomed by the primary band. Many guests and parents of the prize winners attended the occasion.
