The Media Day
The media day of Holy Family Convent Kalutara was held on 15th of June 2022 in the school main hall titled, “Thilasa Chaya”. Mr. Bandula P. Dayarathne, the Chairman of Ceylon media Education Association, who introduced the curriculum of communication and media to the occasion as the chief guest. Mrs.Kalani Irosa Darmasiri attended the event as the guest of honor; she is a lawyer as well as a senior lecturer of Sripali Mandap University of Colombo. The media unit of Holy Family Convent focuses on four main elements namely personal skill development, announcing, news reading and photography. The first photographic exhibition was organized by the media unit as “CHAYA” under the direction of the photography section. At the exhibition, the media unit of our school had the opportunity to display thirty five photographs captured by students of the school.
English literary Association
The Third gathering of the English Literary Association of advanced level section was held on 14th December 2021 via zoom. The principal Rev. Sr. Priyanthi Jayatunga, the Deputy principal Rev. Sr. Charitha Thandalge,The vice principal, Mrs. Prasadini Perera, the principal of the primary section, Rev. Sr. Chandani Hallinna, The teachers and the members of the association were present at the meeting.
Enrolment of New Eco Friends
14 new Eco Friends were enrolled to the Eco Friends Club on 25th September 2020. Mrs. Hemakanthi, Kalutara zonal officer of Central Environmental Authority was present for the enrolment of new Eco Friends. The principal Rev. Sr. Priyanthi Jayathunga and teachers in charge, Mrs. Susirani fernando, Mrs. Imakla Perera, Mrs. Minoli Cooray & Ms. Ranitha Jayarathne were present on this occasion.
